Meme’s Story

Marie Bojala, aka MeMe was born and raised in Gilroy, California to 1st generation Italian immigrants. She met & fell in love with Gordon Estes during WWII as she was studying to become an OB nurse. They married and had one daughter, Charlene who migrated from central California to the Pacific Northwest in the 1970s. Char had 3 daughters, Christine, Rosalynn & MeMe’s founder, Inger. MeMe retired from a 35+ year nursing career in the mid 1990s and moved to southwest Washington State to be closer to her daughter, granddaughers & great-grandchildren. Inger decided to name her bath & body company “MeMe Cosmetics&rdquo after introducing her first line of MeMe products to a friend in 2002. MeMe turned 90 in 2011, still living on her own with her polydactyl cat, Maya. She is a great inspiration and source of joy to all who know her.
